Memoji ("we", "our", "the app") is an AI-powered meme generator that analyzes facial expressions to create personalized meme content. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.
2. Data We Collect
- Camera Images: When you click "SNAP" or upload an image, we capture/receive the image for analysis.
- Generated Content: AI-generated captions and matched memes/GIFs.
- Local History: Your results are saved in your browser's local storage (encrypted).
3. How We Process Your Data
Microsoft Azure OpenAI (GPT-4 Vision):
- Your images are sent to Microsoft Azure AI services for facial expression analysis.
- As per Microsoft's Data Privacy Policy:
- Your prompts and images are NOT used to train AI models.
- Your data is NOT shared with OpenAI or other customers.
- Images are processed in real-time and NOT stored on Microsoft servers (unless abuse is detected).
- Data is encrypted in transit using TLS.
Google Tenor GIF API:
- We send text search queries (not your images) to Tenor to find matching GIFs.
- Tenor may collect usage analytics as per Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Local Data Storage
- Results are stored in your browser's localStorage with AES encryption.
- Data automatically expires after 7 days.
- You can delete your history at any time from the Gallery.
- Storage is limited to ~10 items to prevent browser quota issues.
- Data never leaves your device unless you share it.
5. What We DO NOT Do

6. Your Rights
- Access: View your saved results in the Gallery.
- Delete: Remove individual items or clear all history.
- Withdraw Consent: Stop using the app; clear browser data to remove all traces.
- Export: Download your creations using the Save feature.
7. Security Measures
- All API communications use HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- API keys are stored securely in server environment variables.
- Local storage uses AES-256 encryption.
- No server-side storage of user content.
